Anyway it's cool that he's making a career out of music. Walter and I have been head-bobbing to Alias, Sole, and Sage Francis tracks for a couple days now...
Late Twenties
There's no denying it now, otherwise they would call it late twenty. Happy birthday Jessica!
This is Jessica's patented "time to tone down the sarcasm" look. To which I might respond, "hey baby, that's how I roll... um okay sorry I'm being quiet now."
James and Kay
Jimmy and Kay, Esquires came up from D.C. for the weekend, an excellent excuse to get together with a bunch of college friends.
Redmond Wedding
Chris and Laurie got married! We got to spend the whole weekend at the Goose Cove Lodge, and all sort of friends and family were there for the occasion.
Today's spotlight is on apotemnophilia, a potentially serious psychiatric condition where one desires that their own healthy limb be amputated. This is sometimes accomplished by tying a length of dental floss tightly around the "superfluous" limb.
Sean's BBQ
We got to see Simon, Eva, and lots of old coworkers at Sean's cottage on Lake Chaubunagungamaug. Kids and cameras aplenty.
Baccharlnalia 2005
An annual celebration of all things Carl, now with mustache madness.
Marshall-Forbes Wedding
Had a great weekend with Casey and Jessica. Attended their fancy wedding, met lots of their friends, hung out with Anne Marie in Boston. Congratulations!
Ballroom Bootcamp
We finally got to see Krystél on TV last night! I've been waiting for months to post these pictures from the filming of Ballroom Bootcamp. She's got some pretty serious make-up going on in these.
D.C. Trip
Got to see John, Jill, James, Kay, Irene, and Carl all in one weekend!
Chimp Simple
Casey and I went to see Rodney's band play a sold out show at the Middle East.
Speed Style Beauty
Erik and Renee visit Boston, cars from the Ralph Lauren collection.
Ralph XXX
Drove out to Ralph and Elaan's new place in Holyoke to celebrate his 30th birthday. Props were given, forties of Cobra were consumed.
Busy Weekend
Saw a ton of people over the weekend. American Philological Association was in town, celebrated C and Brian's birthdays, had brunch with Rob and Emily.
New Year 2005
Had a great New Year's Eve celebration with the Redmonds and Mukais up at Sugarloaf.
Morris Museum
Went to check out the new mechanical musical instruments and automata collection at the Morris Museum. They were only showing 60 items, should be interesting once they can exhibit the rest of the collection.
Misc 2004
Miscellaneous photos that didn't make it into an album.
2005 Derek Calendar
A joke taken way, way too far. Ofoto calendars are expensive, but pretty slick...
Erik's Opening
Erik's show at 31Grand, plus random other NYC photos.
Wanted to say thanks to the folks at Burger King for reminding us that cockfighting is both fun and funny! That's what I get for watching a non-TiVo'd show with commercials, wtf? It's not that I'm humorless, it just seems like a really lame Kaiju knock-off.
No Respect
This really makes me upset. Some people have no respect for the ribbon. Free speech is one thing, but these should be illegal.
Jack-O-Lanterns
Amy organized a trip to the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. I suspected it would be lame, but it was really cool! Her extensive research also took us to the bar at the Red Fez in Providence, where we had trendy retrobeer and excellent food.
Mark "Mac Genius" Frizzell finally convinced me to switch to iTunes for Windows, and Casey sold me on the AirPort Express. MusicMatch had been driving me nuts, especially now that the latest version crashes every time I hit the "Next Track" button on my MS Natural Keyboard Pro.
I've been having fun using the iTunes COM for Windows SDK and the most excellent Amazon Web Services to update my metadata.
Maybe people already noticed this, but I just remembered that Dick Cheney told me to check out factcheck.com during the VP debate last night. So I dutifully browsed on over there, but was surprised to find the personal web page of self-described billionare investor, philanthropist, and apparent domain-squatter George Soros. Oh, and a giant banner reading, "WHY WE MUST NOT RE-ELECT PRESIDENT BUSH." I'm pretty sure Dick meant the nice people from the Annenberg Center at factcheck.org...
UPDATE: Casey points out that this did get some coverage later in the day, and it turns out that Soros got the publicity for free!
